Daisy is 3!

Yes, yes, thank you, I'm very proud. *clinks sparkling healthy organic fruit beverage* It's been a long journey. . . .And I must admit *coughs, embarrassed* that there were some times----some times that we just didn't know what we were doing. Some of the time we asked ourselves why we let Daisy ransack our lives. Was it because of her beautiful personality? Her charisma?
Her prestige?
Her ability to squeeze herself into small spaces?Maybe, making some of our past queries null and void, it was her extreme cleanliness. Then, we realized. . . .
She was really really cute and fluffy. We love you, Daisy

June 11,2011--and thanks to Laura for taking a creepy/adorable amount of pictures of Daisy.

Poisson d'Avril

It is the first of April. Not being a family for pranks and jokes (although my sister has been trying to convince me that I have a bug in my hair since eight) but feeling that we should do something, my siblings and I decided to do something French: drawing fish and taping them to people's backs. People being my aunt, with whom we are going to have frozen yogurt with at two.Oh no! I have mercury in me!
Help! I ate a plastic bag!
My name is Bob. Even if I tell you otherwise.

Paparazzi: Daisy

This works best if you have some Lady Gaga in the background. The song starts at 2:00 or so, so the whole first two minutes will NOT be a fitting background. (And yes, I have finally accepted Lady Gaga, even though she runs on the principle that people should wear less clothes and I run on the principle that people should wear MORE clothes. Sigh. . . .)
If we had some motivational quotes from the model, we could send this to a magazine.

Bon Anniversaire à Scout. . . .

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is Scout's birthday, and he is a big six-year-old!Noble-ness!!! Hahaha. . . .

Dog food with peanut butter slathered over a cheese rind, covered in Chicken and Rice baby food and more grated cheese on top. Delicious, right? Much better than Gastrointestinal Health Food.

Kitchen Crime. . . .

Allo Bloggees! Emma here, apologetic and lazy. I've broken out the ol' camera to bring to you live footage of the newest addition to a file we call "Daisy and Perry Victims." Please note the lovely light and authentically distressed wood (yup, I contributed). Let's take a closer look, shall we?
Isn't it gory? We presume that Daisy did the damage, as Perry was in a cage and the corpse was found in Laura's room. Of course, Daisy mustn't get all the limelight: I present to you Perry's food. Blandness, anyone? (This picture actually turned out really well. I flatter myself as much to say that it looks magazine-esque.)

Cutest Picture: Daisy

Try to tell me that this is not the best non-kitten picture EVER.

No, I don't mean actually SAY that.

Meet the Kitteh: Periwinkle

Periwinkle is your typical little brother, just in cat form. He is often described by my mother to be a fraternity boy: he loves to eat, sleep, and be coddled. We adopted him from a "cat preserve," called so for its acre or so of woodlands for the outdoor cats. My mom is always threatening to take him back to he "kitty orphanage." The elderly Italian lady who evidently founded it informed us that that unless we were willing to "leek her fur" we need to get another cat to keep Daisy company. When we finally adopted him, (after holding him for an hour as he purred) she kissed him on his kitty-breath lips and said "They always leek mah keeses" which indeed he did do. But kudos to her, for owning sixty cats and loving them all. Periwinkle loves to eat, to the point of his throwing up. He also make little noises of pleasure when he eats, aka inhaling his kitty food. Periwinkle loves to jump onto my bed at 6:45 in the morning and nuzzle me until I give him food. He doesn't know how to clean up after himself in the litter-box and often pesters Daisy, who patiently and gracefully ignores him. Periwinkle's nicknames include "Perry," "Peristinkle (for his unusual odor upon adoption, although it helped Scout adjust to him)" "Peritwinks," "Peritwinkle," "GP," and "Agent P." His birthday is October 8, 2009 (08.10.09,) and he is almost one year old.

Meet the Kitteh: Daisy

I do talk about them all the time.
This is Daisy, circa four months old. Today she is a slightly plump fluffy kitty who is very shy. We imagine that if she was a person, she'd be a supermodel. She is a very pretty kitty. She loves Purina cat food. Her foster parents (since she and her siblings, Melon [brother] and Patches [sister] were found as newborns; Daisy was the oldest) were neighbors to one of my little brother's friends, and they introduced us to her. When we adopted her, we fed her organic healthy expensive cat food. Daisy tolerated it, but she really only wanted to eat kitty junk food. One day, my mom came across some Purina and thought Daisy might like it. She bought it and mixed it in with the healthy food. Daisy picked all the healthy food out of the bowl and ate the Purina. My parents then switched her to only Purina, and she is a happy little kitteh who never overeats. When we first got her, she was so tiny she got stuck in my little sister's Barbie castle, crawled through her collar, and could fit under the decorative grooves on the bottom of my sister's dresser. Her birthday is June 11, and she is 2 years old. She weighs eight pounds, although we are sure that a large percentage of her weight and slightly heavy appearance stems from her soft static-cling fur. Her pet names (ha) include "Pretty Kitty, "Kit Kat," "Daze," "Da Cootumsy," and "Da Vewy Pwettiest Kitty In The Whole Wide Wowd." Ever since my sister was little, perhaps only a toddler, she would draw pictures of orange kittens with captions such as "I LOVE YOU KITTEN." It was very cute. My mom thought she was allergic then, though, but seriously, we have boxes and boxes of kitten art. Probably wondering why we took three bajillion pictures of her. Aw, so cute. <3
One of her favorite nap places, Daisy also loves to stare out the window at such fascinating sights such as birds, squirrels, and the ever-entrancing phenomenon of one of our sweet elderly neighbors' offspring moving their car away from our mailbox. Daisy has since discovered the crack between the chest and the wall--perfect for eating mosquitoes.Rolling around, spreading her fur.

Please note that the pictures are in a vague sort of chronological order; she is the youngest at the top, and the oldest at the bottom.

My Clean Room!!!

Unfortunately, this means that I will no longer be able to use it as an excuse for getting out of potentially lethal social activities. Sigh.

My dresser and a corner of my curtains. You can also see some off my rather crummy bed. It has occurred to me that I should probably cite all photos as from my mom and sister. I NEED A CAMERA. This has semi-bad lighting; it was cloudy. Don't you just love how often I change the subject?

Here you can see my curtains and curtain rod in detail; also, paper flowers on a string that I got for my birthday. My mom made the curtains.

My lovely desk.

My bookshelf. I used to have, like, four shelves of books, but they're all in my sister's room now. Book stealer. }:( On the middle shelf, you can see my vast variety of magazines. Again, most of them are in my siblings' room. On the bottom shelf I have my intellectual stuff (government and geography books,) my notebooks, and my random craft stuff (see the Mad Libs?) all stacked up. You can also see my two French prints and my mirror-window.

There are more pictures, but these are the best. Unless you find horizontal shots of the carpet fascinating.
